The Department of Labor and Training will collaborate with the Department of Veterans Affairs (Veterans Health Administration) to host an information session on how to apply for federal jobs. National and local federal agencies post their job vacancies on www.USAJOBS.gov and users can automate job searches, build and store up to five distinct résumés, and apply for jobs, all online. The information session will be held Monday, December 13 at 9:30 AM at the Wakefield netWORKri Career Center, 4808 Tower Hill Road.
In the first week of December, the job board had 9,775 opportunities listed nationally, including 392 in the Northeast. "Having one job bank for all these federal jobs makes it very convenient for the job seeker," says Osbourne Easter, Human Resources, Providence VA Medical Center. "The medical center has ten vacancies posted there now and at Monday's information session, I'll be reviewing how jobs seekers can apply for these and others."
The event is free and open to the public. Preregistration is required. Call (401) 782-4362 to reserve a seat.
