The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) is closing a portion of a local road in Hopkinton next week in order to repair a culvert damaged by the intense flooding in March.
The closure will affect Woodville-Alton Road, south of Lindhbrook Country Club. It will begin on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 and remain in place for approximately one week.
During the flood repair, motorists will need to follow a detour using Woodville Road and Route 3 (Nooseneck Hill Road/Main Street). Primary access to the golf course, which follows Woodville-Alton Road from Exit 2 on I-95, will not be affected.
This project is one of more than 300 locations throughout the state that RIDOT is working on to repair damage caused by the historic flooding this spring. All flood repair projects are being fast-tracked to minimize the duration of road or lane closures.
Motorists with questions can contact RIDOT’s Customer Service office at 401-222-2450 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additional information will be available on RIDOT’s website (www.dot.ri.gov) and its social media sites on Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and Blogger.
