Providence, RI - March 30, 2010 The Rhode Island Chapter of the American Red Cross and Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts, Chair of the Emergency Management Advisory Council will hold a briefing Tuesday, March 30, at 4:00 p.m., on Red Cross emergency shelters that have opened in response to severe flooding statewide.
The briefing will be held at the Red Cross temporary emergency shelter in Central Falls located at Calcutt Middle School. Additional shelters are currently open in Providence, West Warwick, Westerly and Wickford, and will open in other communities as needed.
The local Red Cross is also seeking donations for its emergency fund for shelters and flood relief. Donations can be made online at www.riredcross.org, or by calling 401-831-7700.
