Governor Donald L. Carcieri and Rosemary Booth Gallogly, Director of the Department of Revenue, announced today that Susanne Greschner of Warwick, Rhode Island will be joining the Department of Revenue Staff to lead the Division of Municipal Finance starting on April, 26, 2010. She will assume the responsibilities of the position vacated by Peder Schaefer who departed last month. Ms. Greschner has been employed by the RI Public Expenditure Council since 2001.

As a well respected and seasoned economic analyst, Susanne understands the fiscal challenges of our cities and towns, the economic complexities of operating local government, and the complex relationship between our municipalities and the state," said Governor Carcieri.
Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian echoed the Governor's sentiments, "The appointment of Susanne Greschner is a major win for the cities and towns of Rhode Island. Susanne comes into this job with great experience at RIPEC but also with a full understanding of the issues facing the communities on our state. Susanne will be able to build a good working relationship between state and local governments."
