Based on the positive progress made clearing RI roadways, Governor Lincoln D. Chafee has decided to lift the travel ban on RI roadways at 4:00 p.m. today.
Effective immediately, Governor Lincoln D. Chafee has granted limited access for travel for those individuals who do not currently have access to heat, electricity or require immediate life safety needs. Other non-emergency travel is still subject to the statewide traffic restriction at this time.
Rhode Island Governor Lincoln D. Chafee is expanding travel restrictions to a full travel ban on all roads effective immediately. This ban is temporary and is intended to support local public works departments and police departments so they may clear roadways.
