On April 15, 2025, members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Michael Arruda, age 46, of 50 Fairview Avenue, East Providence, Rhode Island, as a Fugitive from Justice from the State of Connecticut for twelve (12) counts of Video Voyeurism. Mr. Arruda was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and transported to Providence County District Court for arraignment. Mr. Arruda was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Isherwood, waived extradition proceedings and was ordered held without bail.
On April 16, 2025, members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Esteban Zaragoza, age 24, of 200 Adelaide Avenue, Apartment #3, Providence, Rhode Island, for Possession of Child Pornography. Mr. Zaragoza was transported to the Lincoln Barracks, where he was processed, and to Providence County District Court for arraignment. The Honorable Judge Isherwood issued bail at $2,000 with surety, along with limited internet access and no unsupervised contact with minors.
On April 16, 2025, members of the Financial Crimes Unit arrested Julia L. Jackson, age 38, of 72 Dr. Marcus Wheatland Boulevard, Newport, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Obtaining Property by False Pretenses; 2) Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance; and 3) False Documents to a Public Official. Ms. Jackson was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released on $10,000 personal recognizance.
On April 16, 2025, members of the Financial Crimes Unit arrested Kelly E. Joyce, age 49, of 618 Great Road, Apartment 2, North Smithfield, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Obtaining Property by False Pretenses; 2) Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance; and 3) False Documents to a Public Official. Ms. Joyce was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released on $10,000 personal recognizance.
On April 16, 2025, members of the Financial Crimes Unit arrested Nicole M. Desjarlais, age 41, of 426 Grove Street, Apartment 1, Woonsocket, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Obtaining Property by False Pretenses; 2) Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance; and 3) False Documents to a Public Official. Ms. Desjarlais was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released on $10,000 personal recognizance.
On April 16, 2025, members of the Special Victims Unit and the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Aaron Reed, age 36, of 30 Nebraska Street, Providence, Rhode Island, on a Superior Court Bench Warrant for the following: 1) First-Degree Child Molestation (two counts); 2) Procurement of Alcoholic Beverage for Underage Person; and 3) Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. Mr. Reed was processed at State Police Headquarters and transported to Providence Superior Court.
On April 16, 2025, members of the HIDTA Task Force arrested Tyler Defosse, age 29, of 144 Stillwater Drive, Warwick, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) License or Permit Required to Carry a Pistol; 2) Large-Capacity Feeding Devices Prohibited; 3) Large-Capacity Feeding Devices Prohibited; and 4) Large-Capacity Feeding Devices Prohibited. Mr. Defosse was transported to the Lincoln Barracks for processing, special arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released pending future Third District Court dates.
On April 16, 2025, members of the Special Victims Unit and the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Ronnie Young, age 44, of 30 Nebraska Street, Providence, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Harboring a Criminal; and 2) Obstruction of an Officer in Execution of Duty. Mr. Young was transported to State Police Headquarters for processing and later arraigned in Sixth District Court.
On April 17, 2025, members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Michael Dooley, age 57, of 229 Waterman Street, Apartment #305, Providence, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Possession of Child Pornography; and 2) Transfer of Child Pornography. Mr. Dooley was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and transported to Providence County District Court for arraignment. The Honorable Judge Goldman issued bail at $20,000 with surety, along with limited internet access and no unsupervised contact with minors. Mr. Dooley was held as a probation violator and is currently a registered sex offender.
On April 17, 2025, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Nicholas Antoniou, age 36, of 115 Friendly Road, Cranston, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Two Counts of Electronically Disseminating Indecent Material to a Minor out of Portsmouth Police Department. Mr. Antoniou was taken into custody without incident and transported directly to the Portsmouth Police Department for his arraignment.
