PROVIDENCE - Michael Fine, M.D., director of the Rhode Island Department of Health (HEALTH), announced that HEALTH has rendered two decisions that will affect the affiliation of Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island and Care New England Health System.
HEALTH approved both the Change in Effective Control application, which was recommended for approval yesterday by the Health Services Council, and the Hospital Conversion application.
HEALTH approved both applications with conditions.
"HEALTH staff has worked diligently to review these applications quickly and thoroughly," said Dr. Fine. "After completing its review, HEALTH has determined that the criteria for approval of these applications have been met."
